NSN: 1005-99-288-7479 (Black) & 1005-01-544-9825 (Tan)
The LMT® SOPMOD buttstock is the preferred stock for USSOCOM Soldiers, hence its name. This buttstock is crafted from a durable polymer and provides a number of outstanding features which include:
- Rubberized buttpad for a more comfortable and non-slip surface in your shoulder pocket
- Improved cheek weld providing a more natural and comfortable cheek-to-stock
- Two watertight storage compartments for batteries or small articles (does not fit 18350/18650 or larger cells)
- QD swivel inserts on both sides

Ok, the big question is always why the LMT over the B5 Enhanced SOPMOD. Well, on 3 different buffer tubes the LMT was snug and required a little extra push just to get the tube into the stock…. snug and secure. The B5 on all 3 tubes was like a baby rattle… it just felt like any other generic old school CAR-15 stock. So there you have it.

The LMT Sop mod has a much better fit than the B5 sop mod. The B5 has a little play in it and the LMT is nice and snug with no wiggle. Shipping was faster than I expected. It only took a few days to get here.

This is mainly a review for rooftop defense. Everyone already knows the LMT stock it goated. These guys are amazing. Fast shipping, friendly customer service and good prices on product. Highly recommend.

With the same LMT MARS lower receiver and buffer tube I started with the CTR stock and could not stand the wobble. Upgraded to the STR stock and saw significant lockup improvement and was satisfied for a while… until an FDE LMT Sopmod appeared and I could continue my part-by-part LMT build part by part. This stock has absolutely NO wobble on my LMT buffer tube. The lockup is extremely satisfying as the stock suddenly becomes fused with the gun in a way that gives it a monolithic feel (even if it’s not). I thought I was satisfied before but now that I’ve seen perfection, I will always be looking for it from now on and be dissatisfied in anything less. My cheek weld feels natural and smooth and much less pronounced with the LMT sopmod than the STR I had before. Safe to say I am super impressed with the step up from an STR to the LMT sopmod.
That being said, a stock like this is best reserved for LMT builds as you can find the same stock functionally elsewhere for cheaper. But if you are looking at this stock, you’re probably making an LMT build anyways. lol

This fits nice and tight, no wiggles on a Geissele tube. The color matches the MK16 Geissele handguard much better than FDE or Coyote on the B5 SOPMOD. This went on my first clone build. URG-I. I don’t recommend cloning unless you want to be addicted and treat the parts like some kind of hard drug. Fortunately I chose a model that you can still easily get parts for!
