The Lewis Machine and Tool MARS-L stripped lower receiver is an excellent starting point for a hard-use rifle.

The LMT® Modular Ambidextrous Rifle System (MARS®) lower receiver offers ambidextrous controls to include: selector, magazine release and bolt catch and release.  An enhanced flared magazine well and ambidextrous magazine and bolt catch mechanisms are machined directly into the receiver and have been designed to function as ergonomically as possible.

This “stripped” version comes only with the ambidextrous components installed.

    The best equipment around. If you’re going to rack up credit card debt, LMT is the way to do it. These are some of the best lowers around. Plus, Sol will send you Ramen.

    Rooftop was very quick to process and ship my LMT lower, on that end all was good.

    Pretty unhappy with the product though. I expect a top end product with top end quality control with a name like LMT. Looks like they dropped the ball on this lower and RoofTop unfortunately didn’t catch it either.

    The issue is the threads where the buffer tube screws onto the receiver. The first thread is really chewed up and the spacing to the next thread is way off.

    I’m still waiting on my buffer tube to come in. Not sure if it will screw on or not. I’ll update when I test it.

    I guess I could try to take a dremel to this garbage thread, but with LMT I shouldn’t have to.
