New for 2026, the EMR-A V2 – Short is a much smaller and more minimalist ambidextrous magazine release.
The Forward Controls Design EMR-A V2 – Short is a drop-in replacement magazine release that is compatible with most AR-15 and AR-10 lower receivers. It uses an extended lever with redesigned geometry to enhance leverage for left-handed users.
A 10.9 pound spring is included to reduce accidental activation of the magazine release. Available in two different textures, in serrated and dimpled styles.
Machined from steel and finished in black nitride. Made in the United States.

I purchased this mag release a few months ago. Finally got around to installing it. It is BY FAR the nicest ambi mag release I have used to date. It is a refined version of the original Norgan style. As far as performance it is even with the Norgan, CMMG and Nemo Arms version. You can get the CMMG for about 1/3 the price, and the performance is just about equal. However as far as looks and finish go, there is no comparison. FCD is just a class above everyone else when it comes to the fine details. I will be buying a few more the second they become available. When it comes to Rooftop Defense, no comparison. They are the best in the business.
