LMT’s submission for USSOCOM’s MRGG-A program is now being made available to the public.

The Mid Range Gas Gun – Assaulter rifle program sought out to deliver a compact sniper rifle for the evolving needs of US special operations. Now being offered to the general public, MRGG-A brings what made LMT famous, plus much more.

MRGG-A still offers uninterrupted picatinny rail and a truly monolithic upper receiver machined from one piece of 7075-T6 aluminum but now includes a forward assist for use with a notched bolt carrier. The receiver still makes use of LMT’s patented two locking cross bolts to retain and secure the barrel, making the receiver both easy to service and compatible with most MWS .308 and 6.5CM barrels available.

At the heart of the rifle, MRGG-A comes out of the box with a 14.5″ barrel chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor with a 1 in 8 twist rate. Made with stainless steel, proprietary coatings and cryogenic treatment, the barrel is incredibly accurate and ready for a long service life.

The bolt carrier group remains to be their hard chrome-plated bolt and carrier. The bolt utilizes dual ejectors to ensure positive ejection of .308 and 6.5 casings reliably. The carrier is now notched to allow use of the forward assist.

MRGG-A makes use of LMT’s completely ambidextrous MARS-H lower, allowing for both left and right-handed operation of your essential controls, such as your safety, magazine release and bolt catch and release. The magazine well is also flared to allow easier insertion of new magazines.

This rifle is built as a factory short-barreled rifle and will require a tax stamp. Comes complete with one magazine and the owner’s manual.
