Utilizing the LMT® patented Monolithic Rail Platform, MRP™. The only true monolithic rail platform, milled from a single solid piece of aerospace aluminum forging. It utilizes two locking bolts accessible from the side of the receiver to lock in the barrel extension. This patented technology engages the barrel extension for a full 360 degrees around the extension and makes the barrel removable within seconds with a return to zero of the same barrel. One receiver can utilize numerous barrels of varying length, material, and caliber.
The upper receiver has uninterrupted 1913 picatinny rail on the 12 o’clock position. The remaining 7 sides provide M-LOK compatible attachment points.
Monolithic rail platform barrels utilize a low profile gas block and straight gas tube. They possess proprietary coating and are cryogenically treated for long term durability.
The MARS-L ambidextrous lower receiver features LMT® ergonomic textured grip and SOPMOD stock, and the ambidextrous features include bolt catch, magazine catch, and safety selector. As with all LMT® lower receivers, the extension tube is coated with dry film lubricant.
This weapon system comes complete with 3 grip panels, one magazine and owner’s manual.

I purchased this a few months ago. This rifle is absolutely excellent. Upper receiver has great machining and has an excellent tight fit with the lower receiver. The barrel is high quality and will shoot just under 1 MOA with high quality match ammunition with a really nice medium profile that I think will stand up to sustained fire. The trigger is very good. It is a 2 stage and it break very nicely. However, when compared to the gold standard Geiselle SSA, this trigger is not quite there, but it is much better than a single stage mil spec trigger. The SOPMOD stock it comes with is truly excellent in that provides a nice cheekweld and some decent storage for batteries, ballistics data, or whatever you want to package with the gun. I only have a couple of complaints about the gun. The first is the grip. It has an A2 type grip angle which I truly cannot stand. It’s workable, but I just don’t like the way it makes my wrist feel. So I replaced it with a Magpul K2. The other issue is the staking on the castle nut. It was barely there if I am being generous. I took my own punch and fixed that, but I did expect better from LMT. All in all, this is an EXCELLENT rifle and I highly recommend it despite the minor issues I saw. Don’t hesitate to pick one up!

If you could only own one rifle and had to pull it out of the box and put it to work as is this would be my choice. The MRP upper is rock solid and the MARs lower controls are functionally superior to anything else I own. Upper and lower mate up is sound, as far as milspec triggers go this one feels great. Ambi charging handle, coated buffer tube, sopmod stock, trigger guard are all nice enhanced features. The only thing I would change is the ergo grip, it is comfortable and well made but I prefer a more vertical grip on this rifle to take full advantage of the ambi controls. This rifle is built to be used like a tool and my next Rifle purchase will be another LMT. Rooftop defense was top notch to deal with.
