S-A Bolt Carrier Group | MARS-H Lower Receiver |
16″ 7.62×51 (.308) Chrome Lined 1:10″ RH Twist Barrel
This is the current flagship for the MARS-H lineup. The do-it-all MARS-H has the robustness of a combat proven weapon system, the pedigree of an accurate long range rifle, and the versatility of our MARS™ modular system. Featuring a 1/10 right hand twist, 16″, chrome lined barrel, and two stage trigger, this carbine can shoot with precision for a long time.
Utilizing the LMT® patented Monolithic Rail Platform, MRP™. The only true monolithic rail platform, milled from a single solid piece of aerospace aluminum forging. It utilizes two locking bolts accessible from the side of the receiver to lock in the barrel extension. This patented technology engages the barrel extension for a full 360 degrees around the extension and makes the barrel removable within seconds with a return to zero of the same barrel. One receiver can utilize numerous barrels of varying length, material, and caliber.
The upper receiver has 19.25″ of picatinny rail on the 12 o’clock position. The remaining 7 sides provide M-LOK compatible attachment points.
MARS-H barrels utilize a low profile gas block and straight gas tube. They possess proprietary coating and are cryogenically treated for long term durability.
The MARS-H ambidextrous lower receiver features our EDM machined two-stage trigger, winter trigger guard, endplate with QD swivel point, LMT® ergonomic textured grip, and SOPMOD stock. The ambidextrous features include bolt catch and release, magazine catch, and safety selector. As with all LMT® lower receivers, the extension tube is coated with dry film lubricant.
This weapon system comes complete with magazine, owner’s manual, and 3 rail panels

I didn’t want to review this before I got out and shot it. Bought a few different types of quality ammo in various bullet weights, and I was able to get a 3/4″ group out of this rifle at 100 yards. I’m not a great shot with a rifle – that wasn’t just the best group of the day, it was the best group I’ve ever shot with a centerfire rifle.
One thing worth noting, the firing pin was incorrectly installed. On the first shot I took, loaded up, pulled the trigger – nothing happened. Thought maybe it was a hang-fire so I waited a minute before ejecting the round and found no dimple on the primer. Removed the BCG, disassembled, inspected, and re-assembled it. Loaded back up, and the gun functioned properly with no issues after that. Not a knock against LMT. I’m very impressed with the gun and will definitely buy more of their rifles. Rooftop Defense was great too. It was my first purchase here, but definitely won’t be the last.

It’s hard to review a rifle that’s so widely reviewed already, but I do agree with those before me from my firsthand experience- the LMT MARS-H is the new standard. Don’t budget for a replacement trigger.
What’s more important is why you should buy from Rooftop Defense. My emails were responded to quickly, the stock counters appear to be accurate, the website works correctly, and I genuinely believe there are good people behind the brand. My new blaster had tracking info within hours, and I believe it may have even gone out same day. Finally, Rooftop supports the military, which makes me want to support them.
Thanks, Rooftop.
